2000 Habilitation at the Computer Science Department of the Technical University of Berlin, title: "Performance Analysis of Communication Systems with Non-Markovian Stochastic Petri Nets", published at Wiley
2000-2004 associate professor for system simulation at the Department of Computer Sciences at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg
since 2004 full professor for computer networks and communication systems at the Department of Computer Sciences at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg
